LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 App Reviews

It wont download. Ive had no problems before, but I am disappointed.

I’m using a normal retina macbook pro from 2014. The previous game (years 1 - 4) had great graphics settings that machted my resolution perfectly, and the UI elements like the characters on the top left and right were always proportioned right. Now with HP years 5 - 7 there are very limited resultions, none that really use my full display res, and the UI elements are always in a different aspect ratio than the game unless I play using the lowest graphics setting, which looks like the 1990s and is like a 1:1 ratio. It’s just not worth playing like this, not what the screenshots advertised either. The screenshots look high res. HP 1 - 4 was the best looking lego game i’ve played yet. What happened with this one? Why change the settings when they were working perfectly before? Also, my progress doesn’t save.

I have been a fan of the Lego series since the first Star Wars game and this final installment of Harry Potter is utterly magical. The graphics are incredible - very cinematic with farther off parts of the scene a bit blurred. The music is great at setting the mood, too. The designers managed to capture the dark mood of the final 3 films very well while still keeping that trademark Lego humour. I find it very engrossing and easy to while away the time on a dark, rainy night.

this game is amazing!! I love it! but there is one problem… it crashes ALL THE TIME and it is INCREDIBLY frustrating!! please fix! the game doesnt autosave frequently enough so when it crashes I have to go through a bunch of crap all over again! I love this game but I want this fixed.

extremley frustrating to play and have nothing saved time and time again. I have a life and therefore cant spend hours on the game waiting for an auto save. Fix this please!!!!!!

i love this game, i had it for wii, and ps3, and now for mac but the problem is everytime i try to leave and i come back the controls are reset and it really ticks me off, i know you guys won’t fix it because it’s old and you guys are working on other games but… SERIOUSLY?!?! PLEASE!!!!

Great so far. Runs smoothly overall. However, my keyboard control settings reset to default every time I exit and reload the game. Can we get a fix on that soon? Thanks!

The game is wonderful and very fun! The one complaint I have is that the contol settings always go back to the default settings. Please fix that!

I have one problem with the game.. every time I exit the controls dont save… BUT overall AMAZING AWESOME EXTRAVAGANT MUST BUY GAME! I never knew this could go onto the mac!

I loved the first Lego Harry Potter game. This one is a little confusing. A lot of time is spent traversing Hogwarts inbetween levels. Im still confused on where to go or how to get to level 2. Furthermore, as others have commented, custome keyboard settings dont stick. Every time you exit the game and enter it again, you have to reset the keyboard again! Very annoying!

I know I wrote a letter to Feral Interactive, and they are a great crew of people. I know you send emails directly to them for support, and the response is very quick from them. However like everyone else is griping, same thing about the keyboard issue, also I used a certain crontroller to play my game with, and it works great but its lacking the icons to use for the controllers, i just get button 1-16 to choose from, and not the x,o, or the tiragle or square with the bluetooth ps3 controller like in the windows version, or the xbox icons for the xbox controller, same thing for both just buttons 1-16. I am not sure of the mapping so requesting this for future update. Also wondering if saved files can be uploaded to iCloud for switching betweens Macs? It would also be cool if you can play multiplayer online for the 2nd person to join and play the second charater, and facetime should be an option to chat while you play like in the little screen so you can see who your play with online, and also implement messages into chating while you play online incase someone doesnt want to facetime. I feel all games shoudl be like this where it reqires a second player or more. Also wondering if you can update years 1-4 with the same features. Again guys, great job.

Looks great, runs great in my imac. Cheaper than console prices! Also, just plug in a PS3 controller via USB and change it in controller settings. Works perfectly. Must have for HP and Lego series fans alike.

After the first game I was waiting eagerly for this games arrival. For Harry Potter fans who enjoy a funny twist to the story added by quirky LEGO characters, this is again an awesome fun game. Like any other lego game, you get the feeling that this was initially designed as a console game. However, that doesnt make it less fun - just gives it a slight learning curve. The game is more demanding of the system compared to the first one. I encountered a glitch during one of the levels and contacted feral support and they were very swift in helping and the problem was easily solved. All in all I am glad I purchased this game and I am having a great deal of fun with it! I only wish it didnt have to be full screen, however Im not complaining!

This is an awesome game!!!!!! Yes, you do have to redo the controls every time, but you could also plug in a controller from your favorite system and play it like that. Its worth it!

I absolutely love this game! The graphics are great and there is plenty to do in the game. The music is the soundtrack from the Harry Potter movies and fits perfectly with the game. I highly recommend this to any Harry Potter fan!

Love the game for my son, but it simply wont save my progress. I have been unable to find a way to save it manually and there is definitely no automatic saving going on. Not sure if I am just missing something or there is a problem with the game. Otherwise, pretty wicked. Really fun for adults and kids. The only reason I give it four stars is because of the saving issue and, like many others have stated, the controls reseting to default everytime I open the game. Not cool.

A great game but is not as polished as the first one. Great overall!

Story mode was great, but when you get to free play and start unlocking tons of stuff is when the real fun begins. I feel like they did a great job with the castle and making lots of places to play!

The game is great. Not much lag at all which, for this kind of game, surprised me a lot. The one issue that kept me from making it a 5-star game was the same issue everyone else has mentioned: the controls reset any changes you make each time you exit out of the game. Feral, can we get an update that lets us save our control settings for the game? If you do, I will gladly change my rating to 5 stars.
